Announcements for May 19, 2013

Welcome!  Amplifiers are available for people who may be hearing impaired. Please ask an usher and they can provide you with one. Large print bulletins and sermons are available in the narthex.  Four hearing aids are available from the ushers for those who request one.  Alcohol wipes are provided for sanitizing purposes. Please return aids to the ushers before leaving, so that others may enjoy using them on another occasion.

Sunday School: We invite all children to come forward for the “Thought for the Children” today, after which they are invited to the Parish Hall for Sunday School (toddlers through fifth grade). We encourage our older youth to remain with their parents in the Sanctuary, but they are always welcome in Sunday School as helpers. THIS WEEK!  Picket Fence Submission Deadline:  Attention Board and Committee chairs!  The Picket Fence deadline for the June/July edition is Wednesday, May 22nd.  Please submit your announcements to Kim via email on or before this date.  Early submissions are greatly appreciated!

Today! There will be an After-Church Talk given by our own Susie Bowman, Teacher/Naturalist.  The topic is:   Lilies of the Field, Oaks of Righteousness and Living Water: Images of Nature in the Bible and What They Teach Us About Spiritual Life.  Also, at 2:00 p.m. Susie will guide us on  a Nature Walk at Felix Neck.

Worship Resources:  Today’s Call to Worship was written by the Rev. Michelle L. Torigian. The Prayer of Invocation is from the UCC Weekly Seeds.

Organ and Choir Concert: David Rhoderick and the Choir will present a piano and choral concert on Sunday, June 2nd at 4:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary.  Music will include works by Bach and Chopin.  Entry is $15.00 at the door, proceeds will benefit our church and its music programs
